Health & Diet
health
Aristocrat Motel Boarding Cattery prides itself on its excellent health and safety record. This can only be achieved by making sure certain conditions are adhered to, which will safeguard not only the health and well being of your cat but also that of the other cats in the Cattery. Therefore, before your cat is accepted into the Cattery, they MUST satisfy the following conditions:
-
Cats must have an F3 vaccination as a minimum requirement before boarding. Your vet can advise you on other options.
-
Vaccination boosters are needed annually for ongoing protection and these should be done at least two weeks before entry into the Cattery
-
A current vaccination certificate must be provided on arrival
-
Cats must not be suffering from, or suspected to be suffering from, any infectious or contagious disease, e.g. sneezing
-
Cats must be treated against fleas and worms before boarding (please contact cattery for advice).
Each cat will be given a quick visual inspection before being accepted for boarding.
Diet
We feed Iams and Advance complete dry food and a range of main brand tinned food.
If you would like to keep your cats diet the same as it is at home, then you are welcome to supply food for your cat. This can be a good idea if your cat is on a special diet, fussy or sensitive to a change in diet. Otherwise we will try to match your cat’s diet as closely as we can to at home.
Medical History
It is important to inform the Cattery of any health problems your cat may have had, or is likely to have, in case your cat is taken ill during its board.
Should your cat be taken ill, we will contact you on your nominated emergency contact phone number before seeing a vet.
It is important to provide the cattery with a number you can be reached on if needed. If this is not possible we have a mobile vet who will come to the cattery.
Medication
Cattery staff are able to administer most medications if you advise us beforehand.
This does exclude insulin for diabetic cats. It will help us if you can give us the name of the medication, the dose, and the frequency, as it is sometimes difficult to read the labels, on bottles, etc.
